Dry ice blasting, also known as dry ice cleaning, is an environmentally friendly technique for cleaning and preparing surfaces. Utilizing recycled carbon dioxide (CO2) pellets or MicroParticles, dry ice blasting machines propel particles at supersonic speeds, causing them to sublimate upon impact, effectively lifting dirt and contaminants from the surface.

1/ Kinetic Energy
High-speed compressed air propels lightweight CO2 particles, enabling them to puncture and chip away at contaminants, exposing their surfaces.
2/ Micro-Thermal Shock
A rapid, localized cold shock is applied to contaminants, creating a temperature difference between the contaminant and the substrate. This temperature variance facilitates separation between the two.
3/ Sublimation
CO2 sublimates upon impact, transitioning from a solid to a gas. This expansion, which can increase volume by up to 700%, occurs within cracks in the contaminant, breaking it apart from the inside and making a significant contribution to the cleaning process.
